So it seems the classic more relaxed wedding theme is back in fashion. We love these timeless marquees and our very own Oli from AM and his wife Lucie chose the Traditional marquee for their wedding a couple of years ago near Farnham. The marquee was beautifully filled with an abundance of flowers in stunning summer pinks and apricots, trestle tables were dressed in clean sharp white linen, soft lighting. Subtle decorative influences throughout the space created the look they were both looking for and with the stunning Surrey countryside as the backdrop, the marquee lent itself perfectly to these settings. 
There are so many ideas out there at the moment and new ways of making a point of difference. Beautiful bespoke linings are very popular and we can always talk through the various options available and if need be get them made. Below was a wedding we did two years ago where the couple had chosen large prints of butterfly’s on large overlays which gave the otherwise quite traditional setting a twist, an easy but effective thing to do. Last summer we put up a traditional marquee for Luke and Sasha’s wedding. We were bowled over by their décor and theme. They had gone for a unique take on this marquee by using props and an eclectic mix of china and glasses and wooden folding chairs. The couple had also sourced two directors’ chairs for the head table. They had made sure that as much natural light could come through the marquee by installing orangery windows throughout the dining area. 
Using the outdoor space is a fantastic idea for making more of the setting and also the visual aspect of the marquee. Rattan garden furniture makes and ideal way of creating a comfortable relaxing area to have a drink and chat. If you are working to a tight budget or theme another good option are hay bales these can be used as they come. Or can be covered in fabric and scatter cushions. Lighting is always an important factor at a wedding and with “festival” in mind we can help with this too. Garlands of coloured bulbs, Garden flares and fairy lights all add to the ambience of the party. Catering options are in abundance for a festival themed wedding we love for obvious reasons Pie Minister. You could also contact a vintage fish and chip van, an ice cream van or a favorite of ours is always a good Hog Roast. Sometimes it is worth asking your local butcher for his recommendation on this. 
The great thing about Festival inspired weddings is that you can run wild with your ideas and also be as relaxed as you like.
